Susan Crooks lost her highly sensitive son, Walt, to suicide in 2019 and founded a non-profit in his memory to destigmatize mental healthcare, reduce suffering, and provide resources to further that mission through community outreach programs. It’s an incredible story of a mother’s love and tireless devotion on all our behalves to help those who may be suffering in silence, especially men.
Susan has been champion for HSPs and HSS/HSPs and is a poignant example of the simple act of caring for each other that we all need to embrace in these complex and challenging times. Sensitive Men Rising accepts the mission, along with Walt’s Waltz, of destigmatizing mental healthcare, reducing suffering, and being a resource and a link to avenues of caring.
